Experience
Analysis, translation, proofreading, reviewing, localisation, transcreation, testing, web design and adaption, project management, CAT consulting, training, research, etc. Throughout my (still fledgling) career, I have worked on (and am still working on) many different types of projects in amongst other places:
- SDL International (at SDL Spain, the local office in Spain), where I currently work as Lead Translator, translation project manager and tester (Granada, since 2008). On top of that, in Q3 2010, I was appointed SDL Trados Studio 2009 Power User and consequently I am now responsible for the roll-out process and helpdesk of this new leading translation tool.
- Webmaster at Asociación de Becarios Talentia. I have been involved with this association since its creation in 2010. I designed and created its official website and now I webmaster it.
- Imperial College London, where I tutor (English to Spanish) on an online localisation course (London, academic years 2008-2010).
- International Translation Resources - ITR, where I gained experience in project management and language engineering within the localisation department (London, 110 hours, 2008).
- Fundación AULA_SMART, where I had my first experience as a translator, editor and a liaison interpreter (Málaga, 10/10/2006 - 09/04/2007).
- University of Malaga, where I worked as an intern in the Department of Translation and Interpreting (Málaga, academic year 2005/2006), mainly performing research but also setting up and teaching a couple of specialised seminars on translation.
- Roehampton University London, where I taught conversation classes in the Spanish department (London 2003/2004) while completing my year abroad on Erasmus.
Despite the fact I am still young, I have already gained experience in different places (and countries) because I feel that is the best way to enrich yourself proffesionaly: by learning from various professionals working in different organizations, sharing your ideas and absorving from others's, being critical at yourself and showing a strong commitment to your company and the people working by your side. This is the attitude I adopt towards not only my career but also the many actitivies I collaborate in beyond my professional life. I am always willing to take part into ambitious and innovating projects so in case you have someting interesting and look for an enthusiastic guy to work with, what are you waiting for?
